Emphasizing an ecological ethos, the road's construction prioritizes environmental considerations over costs, according to Deng Jinsong, deputy chief engineer of Hainan Highway Construction Project Management Co, who played a key role in overseeing the project's design and construction. He said that builders integrated ecological principles throughout the construction process, leveraging innovative technologies, techniques, equipment, and materials to fortify the road's ecological foundation, harness environmental benefits, and propel sustainable development.
