Meet Empress Dowager Feng at Datong exhibition

Empress Dowager Feng (442-490), formally Empress Dowager Wenming, a remarkable female politician and reformer in Xianbei-led Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534), was known for her outstanding political acumen and resilience through a life of highs and lows. She played a pivotal role in fostering the ethnic integration that shaped the era.

The new exhibition at Datong Museum in Shanxi brings her story to life, weaving her personal journey with the grandeur of the period, a time of cultural and ethnic fusion.
