On the evening of March 12, the epic historical drama Princess Wencheng commenced its 12th season in Lhasa, Xizang autonomous region. Over the past 11 years, the play has been performed over 1,800 times.
The production sheds light on the marriage between Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, and Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in the seventh century, and their contribution to the ethnic unity between Han and Tibetan people.
