On Feb 15, in Shantou, Guangdong, the streets came alive with the Chaoyang Fenggang Yingge Dance parade - a mesmerizing spectacle known for its graceful, slow-paced dancing.
The Yingge Dance is a kind of Chinese folk dance merging opera, drama and martial arts, and a national intangible cultural heritage. Flourishing in the Chaozhou-Shantou region in Guangdong province, its narratives are inspired by local customs and the classic novel Water Margin.
