The Yongling Mausoleum in Chengdu, Sichuan province, is the only known imperial tomb in China to have been built above ground. Its occupant is Wang Jian (847-918), founder of the Former Shu in a chaotic period after the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Yongling archaeological excavation, the Chengdu Yongling Museum launched a special exhibition running from Sept 22 to Feb 25. Cultural relics and documents revisit the historical development and conservation efforts in archaeological research. Seize the chance to discover the legacy from more than 1,000 years ago!
