Wen Zhengming (1470-1559), born in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, is a representative artist of the Wumen painting school during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). An exhibition revisiting Wen’s life was unveiled at the Nanjing Museum in August, showcasing 30 pieces of paintings and calligraphy created by Wen and his teachers, friends, families and students.
