The modern Caidiao Opera work New Liu Sanjie was staged in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Nov 22. Integrating local folk songs and pop music, the production hails the younger generation of Zhuang people, who have a deep love for their hometown and music culture.
Originating from the Guangxi area, the Caidiao Opera is performed in local dialect with singing and dancing and was listed as a form of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
