The modern Peking Opera work Shi Pingmei will greet audiences at the National Center for the Performing Arts on Nov 22 and 23. Produced by Jingju Theater Company of Beijing, it sheds light on the life story of this female revolutionary herald and her pursuit of ideals and love.
The production aims to highlight the features of the Cheng School, one of the four schools for female roles in Peking Opera, which is known for a dignified style.
