The modern Qiongju Opera The Forever Red Flag was staged at the Hainan Song and Dance Theater on Nov 7, portraying the touching story of the Red Army Guerrillas in Qiongya, Hainan province, and their revolutionary spirit.
The Qiongju Opera highlights local dialect as well as folk music and dance elements of Hainan. It was listed as a form of national intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
