What a great theatrical experience! The Quju Opera Teahouse was staged at the Baoguo Temple in Beijing on April 17. It was quite an immersive experience as performers and audience shared a common space and a close distance. The stage was not set apart from the seating area.
The Quju Opera Teahouse was adapted from the novel of Lao She (1899-1966), depicting the social changes in China from 1898 to the 1940s set in a teahouse in Beijing.
