The much respected soprano Ye Peiying passed away on April 7, at the age of 87. Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1935, Ye graduated from and then taught at the Central Conservatory of Music in 1961. Her most popular song is I Love You, China, which was written for the film Overseas Compatriots in 1979.
