The much respected tenor Li Guangxi passed away on March 13, at the age of 93. During his glorious career of over 60 years, Li performed many popular songs, including On the Songhua River, The Toasting Song and The Waves of Gulangyu. In 1956, Li acted as the hero in the opera La Traviata produced by China National Opera House, which was also the first western opera in China since 1949. He will be missed.
