Fishermen have recently been busy planting kelp in Rongcheng, a county-level city in Weihai, East China's Shandong province. Known as China's "capital of kelp", Rongcheng grows more kelp than anywhere else in China. The city produces 80 percent of the total for Shandong province, and more than 40 percent of the national total.
