The third play is The Fermented Green Bean Juice, which will be shown at the Yihai Theatre on Nov 15 and 16.
Douzhi'er, or fermented green bean juice, is a traditional beverage in Beijing. While some favor its unique flavor, others find its taste strange and its aroma pungent. The play is about the owner of a 40-year-old shop selling fermented green bean juice who finds himself in trouble.
"It is the story of an ordinary Chinese family," says director Xie Ke. "I'd like audiences in Shanghai to have a sip of the rich flavor of douzhi'er."
