Culture festival begins in Taigu county

The eighth Mengmu Culture Festival began on May 6 in Taigu county, Jinzhong city, Shanxi province. 

The festival is sponsored by the publicity department of Taigu county, the Shanxi Research Association of Mother Culture, Shanxi Culture and Tourism Investment Holdings Group, and Shanxi Investment Group, and is meant to showcase and promote intangible cultural heritage items in Shanxi province. 

The festival consisted of culture shows, a handicraft fair, and classes on traditional culture for primary and middle school students. 

The annual event, which has been held for the past seven years, has become an iconic cultural event of Taigu county.
