Charity event honors laba porridge tradition

Volunteers serve laba porridge to sanitation workers as part of a charity event in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, Jan 13. Laba porridge is usually made with eight kinds of ingredients, but mainly consists of peanuts and grains. It is traditionally served during Laba Festival, which falls on the eighth day of the 12th lunar month. Eating the porridge is part of a traditional ritual to bring a good harvest.
