Love Chinese painting and calligraphy? Here's your next art stop in Shanghai!
Nearly 70 masterpieces are now on display in the fourth installment of the permanent exhibition at the Gallery of Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy of Shanghai Museum East.
From a Song Dynasty (960-1279) fan painting of magnolia coco flowers to Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Shen Zhou's scroll Boating to Visit a Friend, and from Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) Zheng Xie's expressive calligraphy to modern Huang Binhong's ink landscapes, these treasures span centuries of artistic creativity and offer a glimpse into the evolving beauty of Chinese brushwork. Which would you choose to admire first?
