Pingyao Ancient City sees peak tourist flows over National Day holiday

During the 2026 National Day holiday, Pingyao Ancient City in Jinzhong city, Shanxi province, saw a surge in visitor numbers.
Tourists enjoyed their holiday amid a strong festive atmosphere. With a history of 2,800 years, the city was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. It is one of the most well-preserved ancient cities from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
