Winter Universiade unveils torch, medals, songs, and official uniforms

The Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade unveiled its torch, medals, promotional songs, and six series of official uniforms on Oct 7, showcasing the event's identity and Changchun's cultural and industrial heritage.

The torch, named "Jixiang", meaning good fortune and soaring high, draws inspiration from Changchun's city flower, the orchid. Film strips, winter sports icons, and ski-inspired lines highlight the city's identity as a film hub and its passion for winter sports. A wheel-rim pattern at the base reflects Changchun's automotive industry, while its 711-millimeter height echoes the highest elevation in the city's urban area. High-temperature-resistant alloy and locally developed carbon fiber combine aesthetics with practicality and innovation.

The official medal design, "Jimeng", blends traditional culture with modern technology, featuring winter sports imagery on the front and the cultural relic known as the "first jade bird of China" from Nong'an, Changchun, on the back. Locally produced Songhua stone adds a distinctive touch, while an embedded NFC chip allows athletes and guests to access information about the event and Changchun's attractions with a simple tap.

Two official promotional songs have also been released, capturing the themes of youthful determination, winter dreams, and reunion.

The six official uniform sets feature the snowy landscapes of Changbai Mountain and the frozen Songhua River, complemented by traditional elements such as Chinese knots. Tailored for different roles, the uniforms balance Eastern aesthetics, functionality, and youthful sporting energy.
