Mooncakes and traditional games offered a festive way for international residents in Jinan to experience the Mid-Autumn Festival.
A cultural event was held at the Jiaxuan international talent community in Licheng district, bringing together experts, international students, and local residents from countries including Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Russia, and Sri Lanka.
Participants explored the festival's traditions through a video introduction to its origins and customs, followed by activities including lantern-riddle guessing and ring toss. They also wrote wishes for their families and hung them on a wishing tree, sharing hopes for reunion and happiness.
Making snow-skin mooncakes provided a hands-on introduction to one of the festival's best-known traditions. Guided by a pastry chef, participants kneaded dough, wrapped fillings and pressed the mooncakes into molds before shaping their own creations.
More than a celebration, the event created an opportunity for people from different cultural backgrounds to build community bonds and experience the Mid-Autumn Festival in an interactive setting.
