Harbin Marathon draws 30,000 runners along Songhua River

The 2026 Harbin Marathon kicked off at 7:30 am on Sunday in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, drawing 30,000 runners from around the world to the banks of the Songhua River.

The event included both a full marathon and a half-marathon.

Participants experienced a newly upgraded event that showcased the unique charm of the "City of Olympic Champions" and the "City of Music".

The well-designed route took runners across the Yangmingtan Bridge over the Songhua River and past other city landmarks, including the Harbin Music Corridor, Sun Island Park, Harbin Government Square and Qunli Music Square.

The route extends along both banks of the Songhua River, seamlessly connecting the city's core landmarks with its natural scenery.
