Fifteen volunteers from Peking University's Student Association for Volunteer Service traveled to Tingdong town in Congjiang county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, to host a 10-day summer camp this July for 120 local children following four months of preparation.

Featuring over 70 enrichment courses, the camp culminated in the co-creation and performance of "AMUWA" (meaning "moving upward" in local dialects) – an uplifting song celebrating rural transformation and youthful dedication.

The song was sparked by local observations from Yang Lu, a dispatched official from the provincial discipline inspection commission, who was moved by the children's deep eagerness to learn and their innate passion for singing.

To bring the song to life, a coalition of charitable forces stepped in. Professors from the Guizhou University of Finance and Economics and Guizhou Preschool Education College composed the music for free, PKU volunteers formed a children's choir, and local government teams provided full support. Infused with the soul of the mountains, "AMUWA" has blossomed as a testament to cross-regional care and inspiration.
