The play The Never-Ending Yimakan was staged at the National Theatre of China in Beijing on Tuesday as part of the 7th National Ethnic Minority Art Performance. Inspired by the Hezhe people’s traditional oral storytelling art, called Yimakan, the play tells a powerful story set in 1937 when Hezhe communities joined forces with other resistance groups to fight invaders and defend their homeland.
