Between January and June of this year, China Railway Express (Xi'an) operated 3,310 train trips, representing an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase and setting a pace that could earn it a top ranking in multiple indicators for the ninth straight year. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The station's operations rely on a digital and intelligent system, featuring 25 sets of level crossings and 42 sets of intelligent protection signals, all fully automated. "Coordinated with equipment, the intelligent identification system autonomously clears trains for passage," said Li Pei, duty stationmaster.

The station operates 18 international transport trunk lines. Regular trains run via the Trans-Caspian corridor. Three through trains between Xi'an and Duisburg, Budapest, and Prague follow a schedule of six outbound and three inbound trips each week. The fastest service reaches Germany in 10 days.

Local authorities have simplified procedures for cross-border trade to avoid redundant applications, loading, and unloading to decrease time and economic costs. "Enterprises only need to submit documents and complete settlement in a single go," said Jiang Hanxue, a member of the Xi'an Railway Logistics Center. "They can also track the full transportation route of goods in real time, which greatly streamlines cross-border shipment procedures."

The railway links major cargo supply bases in the Yangtze River Delta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and central and western China, and deepens trade between Shaanxi-based enterprises and countries along the routes.
