What did Emperor Qianlong (r.1736-95) keep in his study? Inside Sanxitang (Hall of Three Rarities), his cozy study room in the Forbidden City, even a hat stand reflects his love of jade. The stand's top, middle, and base were all inlaid with jade carved with cloud-and-dragon motifs. Looking closely, you'll even find a poem composed by him on the stand.
