The Global Cooperation Fair for China‑Europe Railway Express Economic Circle, one of the key events of the 10th Silk Road International Exposition, was held in Xi'an on May 22. Representatives of the railway, port, and logistics enterprises from countries and regions along the China‑Europe Railway Express routes, as well as delegates from international cooperation bodies, gathered to discuss cooperation opportunities.
Driven by the development of the China‑Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) Logistics Hub, Xi'an has strived to build the China‑Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) Economic Circle in recent years, and advanced the in‑depth integration of logistics, trade, finance, and industries.
As of now, China‑Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) operates 18 regular international routes and 26 domestic "+ Western Europe" routes, covering Eurasia with cargo sources across the whole country. A total of 6,037 trains were operated in 2025, representing a year‑on‑year increase of 21.1 percent. Core indicators, including train departures, freight volume, and loaded container rate, have ranked among the top nationwide for eight consecutive years.

Wen Qiwei, director of the Xi'an Chanba International Port Administrative Committee, introduced the strengths of the high‑quality development of China‑Europe Railway Express.
He said the port will continue to strengthen the development of the China‑Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) Logistics Hub, strive to play a greater role in linking domestic and international dual circulation, and achieve more progress in advancing the high‑quality development of the China‑Europe Railway Express Economic Circle.
During the key project signing session, Xi'an International Port Group reached cooperation agreements with multiple Russian enterprises, including RZD Business Asset, RUSAL, and LDK Logistics Group. These intend to carry out in‑depth cooperation focusing on cross‑border transportation, station operation, and supply chain services between China and Russia.
"We will set up a joint venture with Xi'an International Port Group, increase capital investment, expand the scale of rail freight and container transportation, and improve transport efficiency and service quality," said Vyacheslav Saraev, CEO of RZD Business Asset.
The China‑Europe Railway Express from Xi'an to Moscow now takes 12 days. It is expected that transport efficiency and service standards will be further enhanced within one to two months after the joint venture starts operation.
Xi'an Chanba International Port will deepen cooperation with domestic and overseas partners in logistics corridors, hub functions, and train operations, establish a long‑term mechanism for information sharing and coordinated linkage, and advance the China‑Europe Railway Express toward even higher quality, better efficiency, and greater security.
