The Health Management (Physical Examination) Center of Taicang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has recently relocated to the fourth floor of its new outpatient and emergency building, marking a major upgrade in service capacity and patient experience.

Covering nearly 1,300 square meters, the new center has improved its spatial layout and workflow design. According to Deputy Director Gu Xian, key examination areas – including fasting blood collection, general checkups, internal and surgical medicine, electrocardiogram and ultrasound – are now arranged in a more coordinated manner to reduce unnecessary movement.

The center has also introduced a series of digital service upgrades, including appointment-based checkups, self-service check-in and electronic queuing systems, effectively shortening waiting times and improving overall efficiency.

Gu noted that when major abnormalities are detected, a professional medical team will proactively follow up and coordinate with the hospital's multidisciplinary consultation center to connect patients with relevant specialists for further diagnosis and treatment.

In addition, the center focuses on health-risk groups such as individuals with fatty liver disease, overweight conditions and high uric acid levels. Capitalizing on the preventive philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine, the center provides tailored tea formulas and herbal prescriptions, which can even be delivered directly to patients' homes, integrating health management into daily life.

Beyond clinical services, the center has also introduced a daily public wellness activity. From 7:00 am to 7:30 am each morning, it offers a free Baduanjin exercise session guided by medical staff. Residents are invited to practice together, stretch their bodies and regulate breathing, experiencing the unique benefits of this traditional Chinese health-preserving exercise.
