Taicang Art Museum hosts China-Germany art exchange

An exhibition based on the theme "A dialogue between Chinese and German women artists" opened at Taicang Art Museum on April 3. Centered on traditional Chinese silk art and international artistic dialogue, it presents a fusion of traditional intangible cultural heritage with contemporary expressions, as well as the integration of Chinese and Western aesthetics. Over 100 guests, including government officials, art scholars, ICH inheritors, media representatives and art enthusiasts, attended the opening ceremony.
Taicang adds new compound semiconductor optical chip production base
An agreement for Sansun's compound semiconductor optical chip manufacturing base was signed on April 8 in Chengxiang town, Taicang. The project focuses on the research, development and manufacturing of InP laser chips, photodetector chips and GaAs laser chips, aiming to build an integrated industrial chain covering epitaxial growth, optical chip manufacturing and optoelectronic integration. With a total planned investment of 2 billion yuan ($294.3 million), the first phase is scheduled to start construction in August and begin operations in 2028.
18th "Taicang Day" held in Munich, Germany
The 18th German "Taicang Day" event took place at the BMW Welt Auditorium in Munich on April 16. The economic and cultural event gathered more than 300 representatives from China and Germany. Attendees exchanged views, discussed cooperation and witnessed the launch of a new batch of collaborative projects.
German enterprise Bleistahl launches Phase II project in Shaxi town

Bleistahl China's Phase II project broke ground in Shaxi town, Taicang on April 23. This marks a further investment by the German company, following its $21-million investment in Phase I in 2015. The Phase II project has a total capital of 100 million yuan and is expected to generate an additional annual output value of over 200 million yuan. It will significantly enhance Bleistahl China's R&D capabilities.
7-Eleven opens first store in Taicang
7-Eleven has made its debut in Taicang with a store on the first floor of the Times Financial Building, which opened on April 28. Taicang has become the first county-level city in Suzhou to welcome the brand. This move reflects Taicang's efforts to diversify its retail landscape and boost local consumption vitality.
