The Xi'an delegation received a total of 23,000 purchasers at the 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province from April 15 to May 5. Intended orders exceeded 3.2 billion yuan ($470.5 million), representing an 8 percent increase from the previous edition of the fair.
Purchasers from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) contributed over 50 percent of the intended transaction volume. Mechanical and electrical products accounted for 62.3 percent, while chemical and new materials, new energy vehicles, and smart mobility products have all become highly popular commodities in the international market.
Adhering to the concept of green development and innovative transformation, the Xi'an delegation boosted exports of high-quality featured products to global markets. The eco-friendly composite new materials of Xi'an's environmental protection enterprises stood out at the event. New energy charging, energy storage, and smart energy solutions have formed a full-industry supply chain covering design and production, meeting global demand for green consumption.
A representative of the Xi'an bureau of commerce said the bureau will continue to focus on the needs of foreign trade enterprises, deliver targeted, efficient, and high-quality services, support enterprises in expanding their global presence, and inject more vitality into the high-quality development of Xi'an's foreign trade economy.
