Russian rapeseed oil arrives in Xi'an

A China-Europe Railway Express train, loaded with 1,546 metric tons of high-quality Russian rapeseed oil, arrived at Xi'an International Port Station on May 2. Having left Krasnoyarsk in Russia on April 21, the train completed the cross-border direct delivery in 11 days, marking the launch of a new route on the China-Russia cross-border logistics corridor.

The Xi'an railway logistics center coordinated with dispatching departments to arrange priority train reception and direct delivery to special enterprise unloading lines, eliminating the drawbacks of multiple transshipments and cumbersome procedures under traditional transportation models.

Thanks to the customized transportation plan, all 62 containers of the train were unloaded and warehoused within 1.5 hours, cutting the unloading time by nearly 50 percent and saving 300 yuan ($44.1) in logistics costs per container, reducing costs, easing burdens, and empowering the real economy with tangible results.

Relying on an intelligent station system as well as digital tools including the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, visualized scheduling, and entire-process tracking, operational efficiency at the station keeps improving. To date, it has launched 18 international routes and 26 assembly lines, covering major supply source locations in Europe and Asia as well as key domestic regions, consolidating the opening-up pattern of land-sea linkage and two-way connectivity between the east and the west.

The arrival of the train marks an important achievement in China-Russia agricultural economic and trade cooperation, and a new practice of China Railway Xi'an Group Co in helping lower social logistics costs, smoothing domestic and international circulation, and supporting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The company will advance the development of the China-Europe Railway Express Xi'an Assembly Center, improve train operation quality, and strive to build an international trade channel featuring high efficiency, low costs, and premium services.
