Shanxi launches upgraded tourist train for 2026

Shanxi province's first upgraded tourist train of 2026, Y202, departed from Taiyuan Railway Station on April 10, marking the beginning of an 11-day immersive journey across four provinces with 762 passengers on board.

The newly revamped train features comprehensive facility upgrades, with a particular focus on senior-friendly amenities. Enhancements include clearer signage, additional non-slip handrails, and emergency call devices, ensuring a safer travel experience for all passengers.

Each stop on the Y202 train route has been carefully selected to feature major attractions and popular destinations, offering a seamless "one-line, multi-destination" travel experience. Passengers can explore the natural landscapes, historical sites, local customs, and unique cuisines of Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu without needing to transfer.

"We have set up medical stations on board with professional healthcare staff ready to provide health consultations and emergency services," said He Zeyu, the train conductor. "Tour guide services are also provided throughout the journey, offering insights into the history and culture along the route."

Passenger Ma Yuhua said, "The railway service is increasingly attentive and thoughtful. The facilities are upgraded, and most importantly, ticket prices remain affordable. The itinerary is relaxed, catering to all our needs."
