Flocks of swans took to the skies and frolicked in the water on Wednesday at the Kekesu Wetland National Nature Reserve in Altay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

As spring unfolds, melting snow has revived the wetland's water systems, breathing fresh life into the area. Lush aquatic plants have drawn large numbers of migratory birds returning from the south, which stop to rest and forage during their long seasonal journey.
