Boost basic research for tech strength

Pan Jiaofeng, director of the Institute of Science and Technology Strategy and Policy at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that China's R&D spending is rising and mobilizing enterprises, universities, and society for frontier basic research to fuel long-term innovation.
