The opening ceremony of the Xi'an-United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific(UCLG ASPAC) Chinese Language Training Program (Fifth Batch) was held online on March 17.

At the ceremony, student representatives from Indonesia and South Korea shared their practical work experience, expressed their expectations in terms of improving their Chinese language proficiency, and discussed strengthening cross-cultural understanding. They said they hoped to use this training as an opportunity to deepen exchanges and cooperation to better support international exchanges.

The training program has been further improved based on the successful experience of the previous four sessions, attracting more than 300 participants from Malaysia, the Maldives, Japan, and other countries, to reach a record high in scale. It is committed to building a platform for exchange and cooperation among cities in the Asia-Pacific region as well as the rest of the world, while promoting language connectivity and other bonds between people of different cultures and races.

This training program has been systematically optimized, adopting a teaching model centered on live-streamed lectures, supplemented by preview and review videos, with an emphasis on measurable learning outcomes.

The eight-week training course will create new opportunities for exchanges between Xi'an and member cities of UCLG ASPAC, while injecting fresh momentum into regional cooperation.
