A college in Sichuan province announced the dates of its annual spring holiday on Monday, with students given six days off to spend time with family and loved ones, local media reported.
This year marks the eighth year of the routine spring holiday since it was launched in 2019 at the college. Sichuan Southwest Vocational College of Civil Aviation has dubbed the break the "Spring Holiday". It runs from April 1 to April 6, covering the weekend and the Qingming Festival holiday, according to Sichuan Daily.
The break has become a fixed part of the academic calendar, with teachers enjoying paid leave, and students free of classes.
The college said that the holiday does not shorten time in class, with weekends and the Qingming Festival adjusted to give faculty and students a concentrated period of rest and time in nature, the report added.
Faculty and students will also be assigned tasks and practical activities, such as video creation, personal journal writing, and manual crafts, which are expected to be showcased after the break, the report said.
