Hechi crushes fake goods to guard consumer safety

Hechi has launched a series of publicity campaigns across its counties and districts to mark World Consumer Rights Day, observed annually on March 15.

The drives prioritize the eradication of counterfeit and substandard goods while raising consumer safety awareness. The aim is to build a secure and trustworthy consumption environment, equipping the public with essential knowledge about rights protection and regulatory compliance.

Local authorities rolled out a variety of on-site activities, including free consulting services, training residents to identify fake products and popularizing consumer protection laws and regulations.

A key highlight was the destruction of counterfeit goods in a centralized location. This event involved the disposal of a substantial quantity of substandard items, including expired food, counterfeit cigarettes, and poorly manufactured daily necessities. This decisive action serves as a strong warning to illegal business operators.

Targeted initiatives were tailored to specific groups and scenarios. To support spring farming, special guidance was provided to help farmers distinguish between fake agricultural tools and fertilizers.

Market supervision and fire control departments also joined hands to hold on-site demonstrations, teaching the public how to identify counterfeit fire-fighting equipment through direct comparisons.

These campaigns integrate legal publicity with practical services, effectively improving residents' ability to safeguard their consumer rights and further standardizing the local market order through strict, thoughtful supervision.
