Xi'an Xianyang International Airport handled a total of 39,000 flights, 5.75 million passengers, and 37,000 metric tons of cargo and mail during the 2026 Spring Rush from Feb 2 to March 13, representing year-on-year increases of 1.6 percent, 2.3 percent, and 14.5 percent, respectively.

The daily average reached 975 flights and 143,800 passengers, an increase of 16 flights and 3,300 passengers compared with the Spring Rush last year.

As the tourism market heated up, demand for ice-snow tours and winter-escape trips overlapped with traditional migrant-worker flows, with passenger flow at the airport achieving a historic breakthrough as daily passenger throughput exceeded 150,000 for 12 consecutive days. The single-day peak reached 162,000 on Feb 22, setting a new record.

The airport will continue to strengthen its hub functions, optimize the service experience, and stimulate regional vitality, while steadily advancing toward the goal of building a world-class mega-hub airport, a first-class domestic airport operation and management organization, and a powerful engine for regional development.
