Led by Wu Jing, a college faculty member, the project has received a 1 million yuan ($145,250) funding boost from Qingyuan Gouxiang Biotechnology.

Wu Xu, dean of the college, explained that the project targets key technologies in synthetic biology and green bio-manufacturing, as well as high-value bioactive materials, to enhance collaborative innovation between industry and academia.

"The project appoints a technical leader to ensure technological breakthroughs, while also providing a platform for young scientific talents to grow," Wu said. "Both sides will engage in deep cooperation in synthetic biology and green manufacturing, focusing on technical challenges and project applications."

This project uses Shanxi's strengths in the energy sector to further accelerate the industrialization of technological innovations, providing robust support for building a modern industrial system and cultivating new quality productive forces in the province.
