ContiTech, a global technical rubber company, officially opened its Qingdao R&D Center within the Sino-German Eco-Park of the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Qingdao FTZ) on March 13. The opening signifies a major milestone for foreign-funded high-tech manufacturing and research within the zone.
The facility, covering 1,700 square meters, is equipped with over 90 advanced testing instruments. The center conducts comprehensive material analysis and performance testing, including molecular weight determination, composition analysis, and specific tests such as high- and low-temperature tensile strength, vacuum and ozone resistance, pulse durability, and vibration testing.
Its capabilities support a varied product lineup, including air-conditioning and water-cooling pipes, gasoline particulate filters (GPF), and key components for the green energy sector, such as hydrogen transport pipes.
By providing precise data and reliable performance metrics, the Qingdao R&D Center will be key for product development and annual quality inspections across the Asia-Pacific region.
