Machines run at full capacity in Roshung Wood Products Manufacturing Co's workshop in Dunhua city, Northeast China's Jilin province, as finely grained white oak boards move through cutting, assembling, sanding, and painting. These carefully crafted, solid wood tabletops are then prepared for shipment to European markets.

The company, which has already surpassed 33 million yuan ($4.62 million) in exports this year, started more than a decade ago as a small workshop founded by Jin Yongchun and his wife, with only a handful of workers producing basic wood panels. In 2018, the couple hoped to expand into overseas markets but lacked knowledge of foreign technical standards, customs procedures, and international trade risks.

A turning point came with targeted support from Yanji customs. Officials provided one-on-one guidance, helping the company understand the technical regulations of importing countries, complete export registration procedures for bamboo and wood products, and establish a comprehensive quality management system.

With this assistance, the company gradually built a full production chain covering board drying to finished product coating. Its product line now includes solid wood tabletops and furniture made from hardwoods such as white oak, ash, and black walnut. These products are exported to more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, and Canada, with annual export growth of 15 to 20 percent.

Yanji customs supervised 126 batches of exported wood products worth 39.47 million yuan in the first two months of 2026, increasing by 9.6 percent and 8.5 percent, respectively, compared to last year.
