Ordos new dairy plant to begin operations in July

A new green, low-carbon and digitally enabled dairy plant built by Ordos Mengchun Dairy Co is expected to begin operations in July, marking a new stage of development for the local dairy producer in Ordos' Dongsheng district.

Inside the newly constructed facility, advanced equipment has already been installed in the fully automated milk powder production workshop. The project totals 130 million yuan ($18.84 million) in investment.

According to Dan Zhichao, the company's general manager, once operational, the plant will be able to process 600 metric tons of fresh milk per day and will include a full-chain research and development center.

"The new facility will significantly expand our product range and strengthen brand development," Dan added.

Founded 26 years ago in Dongsheng, Ordos Mengchun Dairy Co has grown from a small local factory into a full-industry-chain dairy enterprise integrating forage cultivation, dairy farming, research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and sales.

The company holds 16 technical patents and has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise and a key leading enterprise in Inner Mongolia's agricultural and animal husbandry industrialization.

Its signature products, such as traditional Mongolian-style yogurt, are sold across multiple regions in Northeast and North China through both online and offline channels.

Once the facility becomes operational, the company will offer a full product portfolio, including chilled yogurt, ambient milk, pasteurized fresh milk, and ethnic specialty dairy products.

The new research and development center will also support the standardized and premium development of traditional dairy products such as naipizi, or "milk skin", and cheese, helping bring authentic flavors of Ordos to a broader market.
