From April 18 to 20, the full 55-scene Kunqu Opera masterpiece The Peony Pavilion will be on stage at the Fujian Grand Theatre in Fuzhou. Presented by Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, this contemporary interpretation preserves the poetic spirit of Tang Xianzu (1550-1616) while weaving a dual narrative of love and society. Witness the legendary romance of Du Liniang and Liu Mengmei unfold as a cultural epic of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
