Hechi's development aspirations for rural vitalization and ASEAN-oriented opening-up have been brought to the national two sessions, with concrete proposals and industrial stories shared to boost the city's high-quality growth.
Ou Yanling, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of Hechi commerce bureau, highlighted the city's wild fox grape industry from Luocheng Mulam autonomous county.

The local grape, rich in 28 amino acids, has been developed into drinks, vinegar, and beer via a cooperative model integrating local growers, industrial bases, and research institutions, lifting rural incomes and carrying the Mulam people's pursuit of a better life.
She also highlighted Hechi's geographic position as a key node of the southwest outbound channel near ASEAN. Recommendations were made to transition from a channel-based economy to a portal-based model, enhancing cross-border trade in the sericulture and non-ferrous metal industries.

Strategic linkages with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Beibu Gulf were advocated. A proposal for establishing a national advanced manufacturing cluster focused on critical metals in Hechi was also put forward.
Beyond industrial development, Ou raised the idea of staggered holidays to ease travel pressure and boost cultural tourism consumption, and urged a better business environment with stable policies to support enterprises. Her efforts contribute to Hechi's drive for a vibrant start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).
