This milestone achievement merges high-speed, stable fiber-optic (wired) communication with flexible, convenient wireless communication, such as 6G signals, enabling true seamless cross-network connectivity. This will soon enable rapid data transfer between fiber-optic and wireless networks, laying a crucial technological foundation for the interconnected 6G era.

The center's achievement is not merely a technical iteration but a major performance leap. The photonic integrated chip developed by the center has reached world-class performance standards, breaking three world records and being featured in the prestigious journal Nature. This accomplishment has garnered significant attention from both the academic and industrial sectors.

The center plans to use its robust silicon photonics and thin-film lithium niobate process platform to transform this laboratory "sample" into a mass-producible, applicable chip product.

In the near future, OVC's "photonic integrated chip" technology is expected to be widely used in cutting-edge fields such as 6G communications and wireless data centers, providing strong support for the development of China's communications industry.
