The Lijiang School of Painting will further advance cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN by fostering artistic talents, creating high-quality artworks and building exchange platforms, said Wei Junping, president of Guangxi Arts University and chairman of Guangxi Lijiang School of Painting Promotion Association, on March 7.
An art exhibition of the school opened in Nanning on the same day, presenting 80 works by 80 of its outstanding artists. With a focus on young painters' creations and masterpieces by established artists, the exhibition showcases the school's recent innovative achievements, builds an artistic inheritance bridge across generations and offers the public a splendid art feast full of ideological, artistic and contemporary appeal.
Wei stated that since its founding, the school has depicted Guangxi's landscapes and recorded the region's development with distinctive regional traits and rich ethnic styles, extending its influence from Guangxi to the whole world.
As the birthplace and talent cultivation base of the school, Guangxi Arts University is boosting discipline development to nurture young artists and expand the school's communication scope.
In 2025, the school launched its first cross-border exhibition tour in Malaysia, Laos and Thailand, deepening cooperation with ASEAN art institutions and enabling ASEAN members to experience the profound connotation of Chinese culture.
Going forward, it will draw more inspiration from Guangxi's development practices to create more fine artworks and further strengthen China-ASEAN cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
