Nansha district has emerged as a focal point for the Greater Bay Area's growth, gaining particular attention during the press conference for the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on March 3.

During the event, CPPCC Spokesperson Liu Jieyi emphasized the committee's commitment to advancing the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He emphasized that the CPPCC actively conducted research and consultations throughout 2025 to strengthen rule alignment, connectivity, and the development of major cooperation platforms, including Nansha, Hengqin, Qianmen, and the Hetao area.

As a critical cooperation hub, Nansha acts as an essential link in fostering deep integration between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. By capitalizing on its strategic location, the district has become a key driver for regional development and collaborative growth.

Currently, Nansha is accelerating its "five-port linkage" strategy — integrating seaport, airport, data port, financial port, and talent port operations. This initiative aims to position the district as a top highland for innovation, industry, talent, and livability.

Looking ahead, Nansha is set to take on its role as the "eye of the board" for the Greater Bay Area. By strengthening cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao and expanding its international influence, the district aims to serve as a high-level gateway for openness and development, ultimately acting as a powerful new growth pole for the region's transformation into a world-class bay area.
