Charmaine Sheh praises Nansha's new housing initiative

Nansha's new "Good Houses" initiative has received high praise from Hong Kong star Charmaine Sheh, as the district rolls out generous subsidies and upgraded urban facilities to draw talent on March 3.

Sheh spoke highly of Nansha's ecology and livability during the launch of the district's first demonstration project for its "Good Houses" initiative. She noted the convenient transportation link between Hong Kong and Nansha and expressed willingness to settle in the area, describing it as a well-balanced place for work and high-quality living.

Introduced in August 2025, the three-year "Good Houses" action plan centers on safety, comfort, green development, and smart technology. It aims to increase the percentage of homes meeting the new standards to over 80 percent by 2026 and establish a replicable Nansha model by 2027. The plan integrates housing development with urban growth, prioritizing transit connections, 15-minute living circles, green construction, and barrier-free design.

To attract talent, Nansha offers combined living and housing subsidies of up to 150,000 yuan ($21,750) per qualified individual, with no restrictions on home purchases district-wide. It has also upgraded urban greenery, public spaces, and coastal facilities to enhance livability.

By turning policy into projects, Nansha is building a distinctive housing brand to support a smarter, more resilient city and provide a reference for high-quality residential development across the country.
