The Zhejiang delegation to the Fourth Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) arrived in Beijing on March 3, as China prepares to kick off its annual Two Sessions.
Entrusted to represent the province's people, NPC deputies from Zhejiang departed after holding a meeting in Hangzhou the same morning. The meeting called on deputies to fulfill their duties to a high standard and prepare to give key reports as well as submit well-grounded motions.
As 2026 marks the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30), deputies and political advisors have conducted extensive grassroots research in advance, focusing on major national strategies and pressing public concerns. Topics include fostering new quality productive forces, building a modern industrial system, expanding high-level opening-up, advancing rural vitalization, promoting cultural innovation, and improving public well-being.
Zhejiang-based members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) also arrived in Beijing on March 3 to attend the Fourth Session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
Both NPC deputies and CPPCC members pledged to align Zhejiang's development practices with national priorities, actively contribute policy recommendations, and support decisive progress in building a demonstration zone for common prosperity and advancing Chinese modernization during the crucial first year of the new five-year plan.
