Bama Yao autonomous county in Hechi, a world-famous longevity destination, is developing a new wellness model, attracting over 100,000 long-term wellness seekers each year.

It boasts 100 percent qualified drinking water, a forest coverage rate of more than 78.56 percent, and excellent air quality for 96.90 percent of the year.

Bama's unique natural resources form its core strength, including alkalescent small-molecule water, high negative oxygen ions, distinctive geomagnetism, far infrared sunlight, and selenium-rich soil.

It has upgraded from natural convalescence to smart medical wellness, with the Bama Century Health Garden built at a cost of 2.5 billion yuan ($347 million) and integrating medical care and wellness, providing full-cycle health services and innovative healing approaches.

The county maintains a three-tier service standard for a reassuring, safe and enjoyable stay, with aging-friendly facilities, nutrient-rich meals and diverse community activities. Over 37 self-organized clubs thrive here, and six professional elderly care institutions with 2,000 beds are fully booked every winter.

Bama prioritizes eco-friendly development while expanding its wellness industry, with 771,700 hectares of ecological public forests and strict environmental regulations.

Upholding its three strategic positions as an international longevity tourism resort and a health industry hub, it achieves a win-win outcome for ecological protection and industrial development.
