Wuhan has announced its first batch of recognized AI application service providers, leading enterprises, and foundational companies. Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) stands out with 66 companies on the list, representing 69.4 percent of the city's total, firmly establishing itself as a leader in Wuhan's burgeoning AI industry.

Among the three recognized categories, OVC excelled particularly in the foundational and leading enterprise categories, with its companies making up 70 percent and 87.5 percent of the selections, respectively.

In recent years, OVC has focused on providing key supports such as policy, computing power, funding, infrastructure, and application scenarios to comprehensively bolster industry development.

The zone now hosts over 800 AI companies, fostering a number of high-quality enterprises with national influence and creating an integrated ecosystem of software and hardware collaboration.

OVC has also pioneered a full lifecycle AI innovation incubation system. By developing specialized incubators like Motai Space and hosting high-profile events such as the Optics Valley AI Innovation Conference, it continues to nurture an innovative ecosystem.

As the "AI+" initiative progresses, the synergy between technological and industrial innovation in OVC is accelerating, providing strong momentum for Hubei's goal of becoming a pivotal strategic hub in the rise of Central China.
